Every time I watch 500 Days Of Summer I feel like my soul has been cracked open and thrown onto a movie screen.
Sometimes there’s good in goodbye, and if you’re like me you need reminding of that more often than most people.

Ouchhhhhhhhh!
Of all the times to finally get around to watching 500 Days of Summer…
“Look, I know you think she was the one, but I don’t. Now, I think you’re just remembering the good stuff. Next time you look back, I, uh, I really think you should look again.”
This movie came out years ago and I have started watching it so many times but something always happens. I actually quote this movie regularly even though I hadn’t seen it.
Love vs lust vs obsession.
Seeing what you want to see rather than what’s there.
If I am Tom. Then The Sasquatch is Summer. And I’m pretty sure I’m Tom. It was kind of sad to watch it and see it play out on the screen and see it how my friends must have seen it. Because Tom was falling in love, it didn’t matter what Summer or anyone else told him, he just kept hoping it would work out, kept struggling through hoping that eventually she would see just how much he loved her and how great they were together.
The scene where she tells him they’re just friends and that’s all it ever has been and will be… And he’s arguing because that’s not how friends act… I suspect someone actually filmed The Sasquatch and I having that conversation and then just got someone else to act it out for the camera. And I’m pretty sure they even took those dresses from my wardrobe.
If I’d known they were filming me I would’ve done my hair that day.

If there’s someone in your life who you’ve ever uttered the words “I’ve never told anyone that before”, hang onto them. Unless of course it’s your lawyer or a jury. That is a completely different scenario and I am not qualified to give you advice on that matter.
If it’s someone you’ve cared about, someone you’ve loved on some level, hang onto it. Try. Make it work.
But only if they see it too. You can’t see it for the both of you. You can’t love someone enough for the two of you.
Such a cool little movie.

But that’s life, right…?

So cute…
Do you think it’s true?
